Banyan Tree Phuket – The Complete Experience

Banyan Tree Phuket

Banyan Tree Phuket is like heaven on Earth especially for people who do not only want to rest and relax but also to be one with nature. Banyan Tree Hotel is located in Laguna Phuket at Bang Tao Bay, somewhere on the northwest coast of Phuket, Thailand. Filled with sophistication and a touch of luxury, guests truly enjoy the peace and tranquility found in Banyan Tree Resort.

History of Banyan Tree Phuket

Banyan Tree Phuket has a very heartwarming beginning. The founders of the resort initially bought 600 acres of land in Phuket. Unfortunately, they discovered that the beauty of the land was not because of Mother Nature. Instead, it was actually caused by pollution from a tin mine that was operated by the previous tenant.  This discovery led them to creating an environmentally-sensitive paradise out of an ecological wasteland by cleaning the place and planting more than 7,000 trees. The symbolism of the banyan tree comes from the olden days when merchants would use the leaves of the tree to feel relief from the heat of the sun while conducting business. Throughout the years, banyan trees have come to represent relief and shelter to both men and women. Thus, it is no surprise that the owners of the resort use this symbolism since their sole aim is to provide rest and relaxation to those who have become world-weary.

Banyan Tree Phuket Today

From humble and ecological beginnings, Banyan Tree Phuket now holds the title as one of the most ultimate resorts in Asia. Guests from all over the world can expect an all-nature filled experience mixed with luxury. Tropical gardens full of palm trees and coconut groves are just few of the many scenic views at the hotel. Thai-inspired villas are available for the guests’ ultimate stay. First-class service, facilities that are a blend of modern and nature, and a superb dining experience are just some of the reasons why Banyan Tree Phuket remains one of the best in the industry.

The Seven Villas

The Banyan Tree Hotel offers seven types of villas that their guests could choose from:

Deluxe Villa

Perfect for couples who want to get away from their busy lives. Guests can enjoy a full 170sqm villa which has an en-suite bathroom. A few steps away from the villa is an outdoor sunken bath and jet pool, a dining patio, and a mini-bar. Additional amenities like Wi-Fi, LCD TVs complete with a video and audio system, a safebox, a hairdryer, and an IDD telephone are also available.

Pool Villa

A bit bigger than the Deluxe Villa with 270 square meters, this villa features a private swimming pool with the aroma of the fragrant garden and a Thai sala. Amenities are the same with the previous villa except for the addition of a coffee machine.

Sanctuary Villa

Sanctuary Villa, having 350sqm, is obviously more spacious than the first two. It provides the same amenities as the other villas but since it is wider, this villa has a spacious living area, a courtyard garden with a pool, an equipped kitchen, and a Thai sala that could be converted into a spa treatment pavilion.

Spa Pool Villa

The bigger the villa, the better the amenities. This is what you can expect from the resort’s Spa Pool Villa. The 550sqm area provides guests with a romantic and luxurious hotel experience. It has the same amenities but what makes this villa stand out is the “Intimate Moments” offer. It covers a sunken spa bath filled with scented candles, aromatic oils, and a soothing background. Staying in this villa also provides guests with the privilege of enjoying a daily spa breakfast, a daily high tea at Tamarind, a 90-minute massage, a Special Banyan Tree gallery gift, and other discounts.

Two-Bedroom Villa

This is about the same size as the Sanctuary Villa, having the same amenities as well. The only difference is that it has a second bedroom with twin beds and a private bathroom.

Deluxe Two Bedroom Pool Villa

This is quite similar to the two-bedroom villa with the same amenities except for one thing: an additional study/games room that can be converted into a third bedroom.

Double Pool Villa

This is the most luxurious villa in Banyan Tree Phuket. With a total area of 1,300sqm to 2,500sqm, it features a floating full-length window bedroom pavilion surrounded by a wading pool. Being the most luxurious and expensive, expect the ultimate hotel experience during your stay here.

Restaurants and Bars

Banyan Tree Phuket does not only promise an unforgettable experience inside their hotel rooms and villas. The resort also offers delicious dining to its guests. Banyan Cafe has Thai classics and an exquisite sandwich and salad selection. The Lobby Bar Terrace allows guests to do some stargazing while sipping a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Guests can also get some thirst-quenching drinks and fruit cocktails at the Pool Bar. Safron is Banyan Tree Phuket’s signature restaurant so you’re guaranteed to have a truly one-of-a-kind dining experience. Be sure to also try out the resort’s Tamarind Restaurant.
Banyan Tree Phuket is truly a haven for the world-weary where the only hassle guests will ever have to face is deciding which amenity/facility they should enjoy next.
